A History of the Jamesburg Poker Finals

Updated January 17, 2009

The Jamesburg Poker Finals has been a long standing event on the JSOP Circuit schedule. The first event was started in 2006 and has had a load of history behind all the events under its belt.

The 2006 edition of the event was the first ever shorthanded event in the JSOP Circuit. The standard 12 players arrived to take down this title which saw Frank Ermel, the 2006 JSOP Player of the Year, take down the title as it was his 3rd win of the 2006 season.

The 2007 edition saw a decline in the amount of players as the previous year with 11 players making a trek to take down the title. It was won by Tom Taylor, and this was his 2nd of 3 Circuit events won in a row, which holds a record. He was on FIIIIIIRREEEEEEEEE!!!

The 2008 version of the game had a total of 15 players vying for the title. Dan Winegrad won the title in dramatic fashion defeated Derek Melnyk heads up where the lead exchanged twice over the course of the heads up battle.

This event has a home in the 2009 Circuit schedule. Who knows what kind of history this event could make next year!
